Twitter seems to be actively working to attract third-party devs/founders like you and me. This one lets you request much more tweets faster, in a reverse-chronological order.
It's interesting how much pushback there is against algorithmic feeds lately. Am I the only one who likes that algorithms save me from having to look at crappy posts?
I also prefer preselected content but I don't like black box algorithms.
💡Product idea - a twitter client that enables you fine tune filtering of your feed.
For example, I want to see popular posts but also don't want to miss any posts from my close friends. I'd also want to surface tweets with certain keywords.
Part of the issue I think is that for many users whole point of Twitter is to be on the pulse of current affairs and conversations, you don't want an algorithm showing you random stuff from 8 hours ago.
People just don't like the idea that algorithms are being used to determine what they should be consuming (but apparently they don't mind chronological sequencing dictating that haha).
If you check the app several times a day you basically want to scroll until you've caught up with everything you've missed, algorithmic doesn't offer that satisfaction.
This deff opens some interesting opportunities for tweet analytics etc. My guess is Twitter will continue to grow, especially after it got this huge publicity with Elon Musk.

I think it's down to several things:
For IndieHackers, yes. Twitter, no.
Me too
as a dev using their V2 api, Elon taking over Twitter is giving me some serious anxiety : )
Anyone here on IH building tools for Twitter?
here is the app that I had built https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bird-search/id1593852437?platform=iphone

It seems they want to win developers back after the terrible reputation they had. Can they regain the trust they already lost? Who knows...
