Me and my friend are building a finance website but we don't know what tech stack to use.

I'm a Full stack dev (but a little weak in React), i'm not exactly sure how to system design yet. My friend is from a finance background. This is the first product we're going to build.
We're not sure if we have go with no-code or a code.

If it's code we decided React, Next, Tailwind, Postgres for the database
If it's no-code, it's bubble

Here's some of the features we've planned on having,

  • Admin Dashboard/User Dashboard/B2B dashboard
  • Login/signup
  • A ton of api calls for 3rd party services, for deciphering financial records
  • Bunch of Data collection from the user (for offering advice on request)

Here's what i need help in,

  • How do i choose between code & no-code?
  • Which database to choose & how is it done in No-Code?
  • what else should i implement to make this scalable? (how do i handle scalability in no-code ?)
  • Have you guys had some serious hardships in no-code which ended up being a dealbreaker?
  • How did you guys move to another platform from no-code sites ?
  • How does the cost add up ?

    Hello ,
Building your first product is an exciting endeavor, Anish! Considering your background as a Full stack developer, using a code-based tech stack like React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Postgres for the database would give you more flexibility and control over your website's functionality and design. However, if you want to explore a faster development process with less coding, a no-code platform like Bubble can be an option.

To choose between code and no-code, consider your development skills, project complexity, and long-term scalability. With code, you have more customization and scalability options. For the database, Postgres is a reliable choice for storing financial records. In a no-code platform, the database is typically handled by the platform itself, and you need to explore the capabilities and integrations it offers.

Best of luck with your finance website project, Anish!

I am Full stack, but I'm weak in the frond end part, since i've been coding back-end stuff for a long time & front end in the side. I chose no-code purely bc the person i'm working with can also join in building stuff. I'm not to particular abt coding.

Designing something from top to bottom seems kinda difficult tbh. So if i were to migrate from no-code to code based platform does bubble have any barriers abt exporting data that we've collected over time?

While I don't have real-time information on Bubble's current features, historically, Bubble has offered data export functionality in csv ... . But you cannot export your app code If I remember.
