Instagram as a platform to build your game in public

What do you guys think about it? I am using #gamedev #indiegame and these kind of tags but I started to wonder if it is the best place to go.

I'm just starting my "build an audience around a game in progress" journey, so I'm doing a bit of experimenting on both Instagram and Twitter right now. My thoughts on the tags specifically are those are fine tags to use by default, but for each post try to give some thought towards what other "related theme" you could tag to widen your reach.

For example, my latest post for CrystalBrigade was figuring out how a map building cursor would look so I tagged #ux and may have gotten some new eyes on it. Don't limit yourself to just staying within the game development universe, throw stuff out all over the place once you've got something to show.

Note - I'm not an expert, just figuring this stuff out myself along the way

That's some good advice. I am working on art right now, so I put a little #pixelart here and there. I think that a richer posting approach is definitely a good idea
