Ghost.io has released Portal (beta) - an addition to Ghost's existing membership system.

The existing member system relied on the theme side coding for fetching member details. This meant if things like signup, sign-in, member account, etc was not already present in the theme you want, you'll have to code it yourself. But now, Portal manages the whole membership system for you. No-code, works on any Ghost site, any Ghost theme. You don't even have to edit the template files.

In a few clicks, you can publish your work on a member enabled Ghost site and share it with your audience.

Ghost has acquired IVEEL

IVEEL is a popular premium theme maker company from the founder Sodbileg Gansukh. He will lead Ghost's brand new theme team going forward.

It means the existing themes from IVEEL will be discontinued and released as a new, free and open-source theme licensed under MIT. It also means the extremely popular Dawn newsletter theme is now free for download and use.

I'm having this setup for our private community's blog. blog.coulf.com uses the portal (a chat-like widget at the bottom) and the above mentioned Dawn newsletter theme.
