How We Created a Documentary Based on Our Recorded Webinars

In the middle of 2023, the AI wave was taking over the marketing world, and we wanted to create resources for markets to adapt, learn, and onboard AI in their stack.

We got in touch with Isabella Bedoya, an AI advocate and marketer, and decided to record a 5-episode series that would discuss every aspect of marketing, say content, design, and emails, with experts.

Within 1.5 months, we had recorded all the episodes, and now we needed a kickass distribution strategy. Old School podcasts and webinars were on the list, but we decided to experiment with something new.

How about we take all our learnings from these conversations, research more, and create a documentary script?

Our team has great writers, editors, and designers who could pull it off, and they were so in!

The script took about 3 weeks, with at least 5-7 drafts before we zeroed down on the best.

Then, we went on to create a screenplay - a scene-by-scene instruction for visuals that would accompany the voiceover.

This process took another 10 days.

Post this, our design team took over. The design team created the documentary using stock videos, mid-journey, clippings from our interviews, and an AI voiceover bot.

The final result went through more than 5 rounds of editing and took 20-25 days to create. Mind you, all of us were experimenting with a cinematic format for the first time and didn’t know what the result would be like.

To our surprise - it worked!

It got great feedback from our guests and 150+ audience who watched it at the virtual premiere.
