I lost engagement time in Google Search Console... Any help?

I stopped getting "engagement time" in google search console and I think it resulted in me loosing ~50% traffic. Anyone had a similar issue?

    Do you mean Google Analytics?

Google Search Console does not track engagement time or any sort of interaction on your website, it just tracks how your website performs in search results and technical SEO errors.

I know GA4 has thresholding in place, if you fall below a certain threshold they will not show all of your data. This data is accessible via API, but for whatever reason GA4 will not show it in their app (no way around it, very annoying).

Thanks, this is Google Search Console Insights. The chart from the post is from this tool. Yes, it takes data from GA4. I'll look there

I know of thresholding, they say it's for privacy. I get few thousand visits per month, not massive but would think this is enough.

Do you know if I have to set up anything special in settings to get engagement time? This was really helpful to assess how many users actually read the content.

      Thank you!

        Gotcha!

From websites with that level of traffic I've seen thresholding apply, it's very frustrating but that seems to be how Google wants to handle things.

You can use the GA4 query explorer to query the API directly, I've found this gives more data if you need a sense of time on site: https://ga-dev-tools.google/ga4/query-explorer/
