Let's make $5k MRR your new years resolution

Hi all,

My name is Shane and I'm an indie hacker. I'm looking to give back to the Indie Hacker community in 2022. I'd like to help 1-2 Indie Hackers achieve $5k MRR in 2022.

How do I plan on doing this?

I plan on holding weekly 1-on-1 meetings where I give you targeted advice, and actionable steps to perform each week. If you fully commit to this, and dedicate the time. You will hit $5k MRR by June.

Why am I doing this?

I've noticed other successful Indie Hackers give back by writing blogs, doing podcasts, and making videos. I think all of those things are great. However, for me I really want to make an impact I can measure. I want to see someone's life change and become a full time IndieHacker.

I'm not charging anything, and will not ask for equity.

My Credentials

I'm a long time Indie Hacker that has been doing projects for about 10 years now. I currently have 3 businesses doing a combined monthly revenue in the low six figure range.

How to apply

Fill out my typeform below.

https://thematchartist.typeform.com/to/SWixaimc

Who will get chosen?

I encourage everyone to apply. I will NOT be choosing based on who I think has the best startup, instead I will be selecting Indie Hackers that I believe I have the best chance of helping. I'm looking for IndieHackers who have a lot of time to dedicate to their project, and at least some funds to spend on growth.($100-$500 a month). Bonus points if you already have some MRR.

Below is a small list of projects I think I have the best chance of helping.

  • B2B SaaS
  • High ticket consumer services
  • Enterprise sales
  • Anything that has a sales funnel

Areas that I have no experience with

  • Marketplace
  • Freemium
  • Tools built on top of another platform(example a Notion or Twitter plugin)

Let's make 2022 the year you become a full time Indie Hacker!

Thanks for the offer, filled the form. I believe we have built OrgPad (https://orgpad.com) into an amazing product and we just need to show it to more people. We don't have much experience with paid advertisement, and we plan to start experimenting with it this year.

    Thanks Shane for the initiative.
I filled the form and now cross my fingers ;-)

Should i join i am planning on doing $10k MRR (does not have to subscription-only since i sell one time sale products too)

to make it happen i am doing 12 startups in 12 months

I encourage everyone to apply. But to be honest I strongly disagree with the making a bunch of startups in a short time period. 30 days is just not enough time to make meaningful traction. When I helped my fiance build @Theagentnest it took us 60 days to build it, and then she slaved around the clock for about 90 more days acquiring users.

I'd highly recommend only doing 1 or 2 businesses. Either way best of luck!

I understand and agree with your point of view,

the purpose of 12 startups in 12 months is not to hinder getting meaning full traction but to exercise the muscle of building

I followed it this year so far I did not launch 12 but I launch around 7

While i use to work on second i still use to provide required marketing efforts to the before builds

the thing with marketing is results takes time, and you do not have too much to do, you need post here and contact that person and more

so i can build something while doing that

        i hope this makes sense

    That's an awesome goal

Recently I built my first SaaS product, TypeSheet.net that helps 😍 To Build Beautiful Forms and Surveys From Google Sheets 📗

🔥and in the last 26 days, I achieved $48 MRR 💵 and my goal too is 5K MRR hahaha

Hahaha thanks for the kind words Shane!

I can't believe how many responses I've already gotten. I'm really excited to help someone in 2022. I won't be doing too much sharing, as I want to respect the privacy of my mentees. But I will encourage them to share their progress on Indie Hackers.
