What's your plan for new year?

2024 is knocking the door. What's your sales and marketing plan for your startup?

  1. 4

I'm planning to release the first version of https://www.makevid.io
Converting this beta version into a product is easy but developing a new AI model or making improvements to the existing one is difficult :)

    1. 1

Nice idea man. When will you launch it?

    2. 1

I like your idea. If you don't mind would like to give you some free customer analysis report. From this customer analysis, you could understand what you potential customer are doing online and change your marketing strategy accordingly mainly on reddit posts, and blogging.

Here is the customer analysis : MAKEVID.IO CUSTOMER ANALYSIS

From the customer analysis "AI generated videos" are one of the most frequent subject your potential customer are searching online ( google traffic 90.5K and on average around 1328 up vote and 57 comments on reddit on this subject ).

If you adjust your blog posts and reddit using these analysis, your posts will be closer to getting your potential leads.

Going deep on the subject here are top things that your customer are interested about the subject :

      • AI generated videos for marketing

      • AI generated videos for content creation

      • AI generated videos for social media

If you blog posts and reddit posts include these as the title, there is very high chance people will click on it and pay attention to it.

Hopefully you will look into the full analysis as it will help you gain more leads.

You can also do the analysis your self using decentool.com

I like this idea. I would think about niche-ing it down and/or going the route of making this a product led services business. I'm looking for videos of senior citizens and there is nothing out there... although there are a few services that provide 30 year old models.

Also, I suspect that the product will produce a product that is obviously AI generated (at the beginning). If there was a service that took the AI generated product and made it better, you could charge a lot for that while the completely productized version catches up.

      1. 1

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I'm taking a note of senior people.

My initial idea was to use AI for anything about video creation but it is too much for now :)

    Get the first 100 customers

    1. 1

Awesome. But, what's your plan for getting your first 100 customers?

      1. 1

I am developing a B2B product, that's why my plan is to send emails to every business, and messages on LinkedIn. I am not sure about what else I can reach my potential customers tbh

        1. 2

Yeah. For B2B one to one outreach is a great way to acquire customer. I'm also building B2B. Can I talk with you on twitter/email?

  3. 2

Hey, it looks like 2024 is here. Launching 12 startups this year

    1. 1

It's always so cool when people set out to do this. Best of luck!

Last year, I successfully published APIs on Rapid API, generating substantial revenue. Inspired by this success, I have embarked on a new venture to establish a dedicated platform for two additional APIs currently in development. The first API is already live named sheet2db, and the second, a Forms API, is currently in progress. Goal is to reach $1000 MRR collectively.

    1. 1

Hopefully, you will. Which marketing channels are you targeting?

      1. 1

This is the first time I am building a product of my own so not very sure on how I am going to market these products. Still figuring out by reading some blogs and articles on how others do it. Do you have any suggestions?

        1. 1

    Happy New Year!

In January - Get some users for tldr[dot]chat*. I implemented some new features recently: YouTube video summary and a bot for Reddit (just tag /u/tldr-chat)

    • I'm glad I registered this .chat domain - I can't post links here yet :(
  9. 1

Work more hours. Fix a lot of stuff on Indie Hackers.

    1. 1

Awesome man. Any new feature will you launch?

  10. 1

Happy new year! I've decided to put ideas out there before building out entire billing and account systems. Over the years I've overbuilt my apps only to hear crickets when I finally announce.

This year I'm focusing on building tools for agile software development teams. Eventually one or two of these tools might stick and I could actually turn them into a product.

While I can't post links on IndieHackers yet, a link to Sprinty is available on my profile.

Here's hoping that everyone's marketing and product goals are met in the new year!

    1. 1

Happy new year Calex. No worries. I'm checking it from your profile. :)

  11. 1

I've been going back and forth on whether to focus on ads or spend a month+ doing social content. I made the decision to focus on social for at least the next 30 days... let's see how that goes!

If anyone would like to record their best story on video it would be a huge help. Please DM me. Thanks,

Here is the direction I'm heading Viography.co

Launch Deckpilot by end of month! https://www.deckpilot.io

Learn about SEO to get the continuous traffic. I guess launching a mobile app is easier as Apple/Google take care of page views.

This year for me has started with a big influx of requests for listing newsletters on FocusFyre.com.

I will have to go through them personally to approve them so that they can be listed on the homepage.

  15. 1

Instead of planning to start doing..

  16. 1

Finally stop lurking on indie hackers - launch my micro-saas and scale my Webflow agency :)

    Happy New Year!
My 2024 plan is to cut AWS (Amazon Web Services) bills for 365+1 companies.

    1. 1

Happy new year. but how? optimizing your server?

      1. 1

Hi @IftekherSunny, thanks for your question.
In most of the cases there are underutilized/abandoned AWS resources that can be downgraded/removed or unused AWS offerings that could also reduce monthly bills. You may find recommendations in AWS console, but those are mostly general tips.
I'll help to discover saving opportunities and provide reasonable action items.

  21. 1

Launch at least 1 new startup.
    Focus more on marketing.

  22. 1

    Happy New Year!
I've been working on building two web applications this year. I successfully managed to launch them before the end of the year.
Now, for this new year, I'll be working on two fronts :

    • Focusing on marketing, growing my user base, and driving more traffic to the two websites.
    • Adding new features and making improvements to the websites based on the feedback I may receive throughout the year.
    1. 1

Happy new year. How do you market your SaaS?

      1. 1

For me, marketing is the challenging part. My marketing attempts are limited for now to three actions :

        • Regular posting on Reddit, IH, and Product Hunt.
        • I am also regularly submitting to blogs to which my products may be relevant in order to earn backlinks.
        • SEO is something that I am focusing on as well. However, one of my two websites is a SPA, and so I have a hard time attracting traffic from search engines for that one. So, this is an issue that I need to work on a lot this year.
