Did he already have a solid network before starting? Does he work with multiple clients, or just a few?
My curiosity is piqued.
Instead of a lead magnet, these posts act as a way to attract aspiring writers.
The TLDR is to leverage the skill of writing into multiple projects. For example, early in my career I wrote a lot about affiliate marketing. Then took two months off to make an affiliate site for myself - and that still makes me a bit of income to this day.
Another way I've seen people in my network do this is when they've written on a topic of a long time (6+ months), they start applying to be an hourly consultant for the topic. This is a great way to supplement income without taking on more writing projects.
