How Are You Getting Your Coffee? (Day 81)

Before the COVID19, I get my coffee--my favorite Caffè Americano--from the Starbucks app, either pick up and work a bit in the shop or take it to the office.

Now, my line-up is shown in the banner image above. I enjoy sipping my chilled coffee from the small cold brew glass bottle. I usually just pour whichever flavor I'm having into the glass bottle in the morning.

Starbucks was my favorite meeting place, too. How quickly things have changed! I am so used to working from home now. I don't think I'm going to "hang" in Starbucks any time soon. The "meeting room" outside of the office or home has lost its purpose (for me).

Do you think coffee shops, large chains, or mom-and-pop cafes, are gonna experience decreasing demands? Would it change into the "cloud kitchen" model where it's turning into a utility rather than experience, and be distributed through the Doordashes or Uber Eats kind of delivery services?

How are you getting your coffee at home? Do you have any fancy coffee aficionado subscriptions, or buy bottled ones from the supermarkets like me? Are you willing to pay a wine-club like pricey subscriptions? Are you into tasting different flavors or always sticking with the same one? How has COVID19 changed your coffee habits?

Would love to hear from you!

French press, long black. Takes 4 minutes to make + boiling water.
Most days I drink it "bulletproof", where I blend it with a bit of butter.

I was never into coffee even when growing up in Venezuela, a country in which people drink their "cafecito" every day ☕️. I just didn't feel like I needed or wanted it, so tea was my go-to drink instead.

However, a few months ago after coming back from living in Europe, mainly Rome, for a few months and having coffee frequently, I decided to buy a small espresso machine and have been using it almost every day. It's mostly for experimentation – I love experimenting!

I tweak it a bit every time I make coffee just for the sake of experimenting.

It's been fun and one of the activities I look forward to doing every day either after my work scrum meeting and/or after lunch 🙂

I frequent third wave coffee shops for a good coffee but, when I'm home, I just make one from grounded coffee beans bought at local supermarket. To me coffee shops are great place to hangout with friends and to go for dates. I use it for the experience rather than a utility.
