RewoHub - (Report #27) Filtering the Backlog & Kanban Board improvements

The 27th iteration of RewoHub comes to an end. Although filled with disruptions we've managed to deliver a substantial amount of the commitment. Let's check out the changes.

Results

Due to sickness and the holidays, I could invest less than 50% of the regular time I've planned.

✅ Enable Meetings outside of the same network

This was a tough one and took at least 50% of the time I could work in these 2 weeks. Deploying a TURN server on k8s after realizing I needed one for communication between two parties behind NATs turned out to be without success. I'm using Digital Ocean as my provider and had to learn the hard way that you can only forward up to 40 UTC/UDP ports for their Ingress Controller implementation, bummer. This discovery was around 30h deep into development.

DO forwarding Ingress Issue

So a plain droplet with a reserved IP was the solution I decided on. After an additional 2h of development users could finally communicate with each other over the Meeting App.

✅ Send kanban board cards to the bottom/top of a column via the menu

Love to use this to make a task priority 1 fast.

Backlog improvements

✅ Add a menu bar to the backlog with a title and back button

I like how the menu bar is now a more general thing. Progress in the direction of a more unified design. The backlog and the kanban board got a refactoring with the new menu bar. Here is an example of the backlog.

Backlog improvements

✅ Merge title into menu bars, when available

Also here we have regained some lost space due to the original heading. Merging the title and the menu bar gives more space to your tasks, nice. Here is a comparison of the new vs the old Kanban Board.

Backlog improvements

✅ Add a filter option to the backlog

Backlog improvements

✅ Add a button to get back to the kanban board from a backlog

Navigation between the Backlog of a Kanban Board and the board itself is now also possible via a button.
Backlog improvements

🚧 Add payment option via stripe

As of writing this report, this feature is in the making. Turned out to be a bit bigger than expected so a bit of divide & conquer is necessary for this one.

🚧 Improve my Twitter profile banner

Again, not time for this one. Moving it to the next iteration.

Next

We've improved Let's get to the changes for this iteration.

👉 Add payment option via stripe
👉 Add options to cancel a subscription
👉 Show subscriptions on a settings page in the personal menu
👉 Improve my Twitter profile banner
👉 Create a mock of the dashboard

Due to illness and a sudden focus shift we couldn't get the implementation of Stripe done in the last iteration. No more excuses, this time it's the highest focus.

Till next time ✌️.
Yours truly, Dodo
