Looking for a freelancer to help on project!

Hey folks,
I'm looking for a freelance developer to contribute to a project I've been working on the past few years. If anyone is interested my email is at the bottom....

The team at SailSys (https://sailsys.com.au) are looking for a freelance front and backend web developer who can help maintain our product built with Angular (Typescript) and ASP.NET (Web API) (C#).

About SailSys

SailSys is a web app that helps sailing clubs run sailing races by managing online entries and payments (Stripe integration), entry processing including division and handicap allocation and compliance, communicating with competitors, publishing results and much more. We are currently used by 25+ clubs in Australia and growing quickly.

What we are looking for

First thing to say is that whilst an interest in sailing would be a big positive you don't need to know your spinnaker from your jib to be able to contribute to this product - our lead developer didn't at the beginning! You'll need to be able to learn some jargon and get your mind around some challenging concepts but since you're a developer you're probably pretty good at that already.

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Experience developing C# web applications with ASP.NET
  • Experience building web apps with Angular and Typescript
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • Experience using Git & Github
  • Interest in product design/UI/UX would be great also

If you're still developing skills in any of these areas and want a challenge we'd still be interested in speaking so don't be put off.

Alongside these we'd like to work with someone who is interested in what we are building and a self-motivated maker. We can promise you the challenge of working on an usual and challenging project that's being used in Australia almost every day by clubs to run their events and keep competitors safe and informed. As a member of a small development team you'll be able to have a big impact in improving our customer's experience and shaping the future of it.

Timezone

We have a small team based in the UK and Australia so we have the flexibility to accommodate the right person from pretty much any time zone. It is more about you, rather than where you live!

Time commitment and rates

Perhaps you're a freelancer looking to add a new client who can fit around other projects or someone looking to get a first client under your belt. We are looking for a flexible freelancer with availability to ideally work 15+ hours a week over the next few months. If things go well we hope this can be the start of a longer-term productive partnership.

Initially we'd prefer to work with you under an hourly rate.
