Using Stripe in the EU in post privacy-shield era

Does anyone know if integrating Stripe for payment processing into an EU based SaaS application causes GDPR violations and if so, which steps have to be taken to be in the clear?

The volume and amount of fees being thrown at companies for GDPR violations appears to be skyrocketing after the privacy shield has been declared null and void, so we all better do our homework.
