Why would you pay $300 for a SaaS starter?

Why pay $300 for a SaaS starter?

We just released a free, open-source, community-driven SaaS starter for React + NodeJS!

Check it out and let us know what you think :)

I understand that these type of tools/systems will expedite the 0-1 process of creating a product, but what about maintainability and extensability ? How easy is it to change things and go beyond the initial scope of these type of 'starters' ?

    1. 1

good question! curious as well how this will be maintained.

lol i like the effort you guys put in. What react exactly are you using, with cra or vite or something else?

    1. 1

thanks man. we're using VITE, of course ;)

Got it Vinc, I've always created from scratch for my own use. However, if i have a side project in future, I'll give this a shot and also if it is good, I'll make a video out of it and educate people on why to kick start with this compared to others, if it is good*.

Other than that, if you're on X, let' connect. www.x.com/veerxyz

It seems to me that there are many technologies that are new, a beginner wouldn't know how to use them.

But it's a good SaaS starter.

Don't worry about not going far enough, just be patient, the rewards always come in the process.

I have used React before and such starters what they promise is not 100% true you require someone qualified as a dev to be on standby. For a non tech founder this won't fly. The best solution is Webflow, Wized and Xano. This is full stack with no code. Both front end and backend. Any custom work is on vanilla Js and also can use npm packages via cdn. This is the answer folks. I will post soon on this platform.

I have 900 commits in my soon to be launched SaaS Construct Cloud Kit, including CI/CD, whole backend on AWS, stripe (subscriptions, one-time payment, customer portal), auth etc., vue js on the front, privacy first and etc.
It took me 600 hours, like really focused hours to do that. And I am not even done.
The amount of things that usually goes wrong, which is now fixed is insane.

I wish something like this existed when I started.
Especially CI/CD. Git push -> rollout, no need to click.
Infrastructure as code -> need new stuff ?-> just code couple of lines for the AWS service you need.

I am thinking 49$ is not that big a deal for that, right?

But I have not validated yet, been coding, so we will see.
Gonna use it a lot for the next projects anyway.

I guess that depends whether it saves you $300 worth of time.

If you are already making SaaS products already, there's quite a few free ones that you can also just tailor-make into your own SaaS starter. However, you also have to maintain it yourself.

I'm a pure service based business and actively thinking about how to productize my knowledge in 2024, so I can create more top of funnel products.

I don't know how to leverage what you are offering, but would love to learn

Smart, I am "trying" to do the same. The agency/services model is awful. A constant grind and no way to grow exponentially.

Good question. Even I am trying to explore similar lines. I am not sure if people will be willing to pay for it.

I have built a "Flexible Fast Code Business Application Platform" called PrestoFox. It has built its multi-tenant architecture. Using PrestoFox one can build any kind of app like PWA, Web App, iOS app, Android app, desktop app, or browser plugin using a single code base.

My USP is that the developer can build a CRUD from the backend to the front end in just 3 minutes. I already have the following features

    • Unlimited Role and Permission management
    • Role-based user menu
    • JWT based authentication
    • Pre-built login, registration, forgot and reset password
    • Pre-built user profile and logout
    • Developer Tools
    • API call rate limiting/throttling
    • Cron Job and Scheduling
    • Message Queue
    • Data auditing and management
    • File Management
    • Data Populators and Fixtures
    • Data validation system
    • Logging and Monitoring
    • Notifications
    • Emails Management
    • Flexible data grid
    • Advance Select Control
    • 100% Responsive UI
    • Internationalization support

I have already built 5+ SaaS Products and 3+ internal business applications using it.

By the way, how did you come up with the amount ( $300 )? Do you have any references?

What''s the link to your "prestoFox"?

The only thing I could find is an agency in the UK.

No mention of "the developer can build a CRUD from the backend to the front end in just 3 minutes with those features"

      1. 1

I don't have a dedicated website for PrestoFox. However, if you need more specific information, then I am happy to answer them

You can connect with me on LinkedIn as well for a much more detailed discussion.
