How Loyalty Programs Can Set you Apart From your Competition

In ecommerce, almost every niche is saturated.

The truth is, if you remove the logo of several online sites and their names, it'll be difficult for potential customers to tell the difference.

How do you stand out?

Is it by offering more discounts?

Is it by offering more offers that put your business in the red?

The answer is no.

Some eCommerce businesses have been able to set themselves apart from the competition, and that's by starting a loyalty program.

It's not as scary to start as some believe.

I have an article that walks you through everything you should know.

If you already have a loyalty program set up for your website, kindly share details on your experience so far.

I need to dive into this topic, I've been looking for a good resource on this.

Sure, let me hear your feedback when you've gone through it

I've been investigating a referral code system, to provide users with free credits for every person they bring on board... Interesting and easy to implement using Laravel.

But 1st focussing on getting conversions from currently active users

Amazing. Is Laravel a standalone tool, or do they have a Shopify app? Also, what are your conversions like so far? Are users referring potential customers?

Laravel is a coding framework using PHP. but it bears tricks n tools to build them quickly for developers.

I'm still in the investigation stage, but I'm thinking of implementing and trying it out soon.

Hey, were you able to implement it? Why aren't you using any of the existing tools in that market to solve this?

          1. 1

Because I created a micro-saas (www.linqmeup.com), and wanted to bootstrap it, I decided to implement the referral code feature myself. Using existing stuff means $25 p/month or so and since my revenue isn't really large, spending a couple of hours to implement it was cheaper than using other services.

I built the feature in about 2-4 hours and after registration (and validating their account), users can copy their unique referral code (generated once they visit the referral page) and send a link with the code incorporated to potential interested people (colleagues, friends, ..).

When someone registers and verifies their account using the referral code, a couple of free credits are earned for the referrer.

I still have low conversion (from 1500-2000 verified accounts, I only have ample registered users, but the referral system bumped the verified accounts for sure (around 10-15% increase since implemented).

I'm trying to reach the right .NET developers (from higher income countries instead of lower income countries where even a $5 p/month subscription is a lot).

            All the best
