Notion acquires Cron, a next-generation calendar

The Cron calendar app uses keyboard shortcuts. Notion acquired the company to expand its functionality and productivity features.

Saw Cron on ProductHunt for the first time around 6 months ago, and instantly became a fan. We recently raised our seed round and had to schedule an insane number of meetings and calls for over a month.

Cron made it sooo much easier to manage them. No surprise therfore, that they got acquired by a company like Notion, even during Cron's closed beta phase!

    Congratulations to the Founder!

I've always been a independent user of Notion and loved some of the functions but felt that I miss out on a lot of the features its capable of. @bobburch, were you a Cron user before this acquisition? Curious for an 'honest review' of cron before integration.

No, I don't have any personal experience with it. Watched a video after I read this though. It looks nifty but it's ultimatelyly not necessary for my work (as a writer).

Awesome news for Raph and his team.

Love it! We're starting to use Notion at my work and I'm loving it. The non-tech staff aren't taking to it as quickly.

"Last year I switched to Cron for my calendaring and was so impressed by the craft behind this product. I’m super excited to see Notion and Cron come together to bridge synchronous and asynchronous work, and help people collaborate more easily on whatever is most important to them.” — Ivan Zhao, Notion’s co-founder and CEO

Excited to see Notion adding more functionality while, in general, keeping their product simple. Curious if we'll see Notion get acquired in the next year to two.

Cron is great. Can't wait to see what they do.
