Reached 10,000+ signups on Shadowing AI this week - AMA

We have created a shadowing process on shadowing.ai to help candidates learn about the company before they apply for any job.

We are on track to get 700+ signups a day consistently. About 23% users are WAUs. We are expecting to achieve 75% WAU by end of February.

We signed up few more companies to try Shadowing last week. None of these new clients were from our outbound efforts. They all came through reference or search.

There are many metrics to share that I will share in the future.

    How much you spent on Marketing?

      I have LI premium account since last few months that I have used for many other purposes. It helped me to find customers for customer interviews. I hired marketing person to help sort out companies to reach out and send message to them.

      But other than that I didn't spend anything on marketing yet.

    Q: What's your engagement strategy after initial account creation? What are your plans to make the product sticky?

      Great question. We focus on getting users to the product in 1st 2 weeks. Once we found that users are signing up regular basis, we switched our focus to improve engagement on 3rd week.

      I talk with users every day. We went through all the requirements and issues they have. We discussed those, prioritized based on how much time they'd spent on website if we solve those problems, then whether they will be ready to pay or not.

      The goal of this exercise was to find as a user where I will spend more time and why. Like, in our case users are applicants and they might like to give more quiz. But that might not be enough because our competitors also provide some of these services. So, we had to provide something very unique to bring our users back and then also think on being unique for long time.

      No thoughts on making product sticky yet. Right now, the focus is to increase engagement and retention for the users. I guess we will figure out the sticky part after analysis of users behavior. Once we find that, we will work on it. We started restricting doing lots of things on Shadowing AI - just to check whether users are contacting us to enable few features for them beyond usage limitation.

      The focus is to provide the Shadowing process for the hiring and onboarding.

    Sorry to ask, what is "WAU"?

    Could you share the big picture of your growth and communication strategy? How did you reach 10,000+ signups?

      WAU = Weekly Active Users

      We mostly repeated what we did to get 1000+ signups. One major difference is that we implemented many things to improve engagement and retention. I will write blog about it soon. We might see 75%+ retention in next few weeks.

      Our strategy is to focus on very channels to get more users. We will focus on other ways of getting users to our website from March.
