Clubhouse will launch its Android version in a couple of months. What will happen?

Yesterday Clubhouse “announced” that will launch its Android version in a couple of months.

Shaan Puri though is already predicting that Clubhouse will fail.

What do you think is going to happen after the Android version is launched?

Lol, hopefully, they'll go bankrupt before then.
It's insanely pathetic to "launch after MONTHS", an app that is beyond simple.

  2. 3

Looks like Pandemic is to stay this year, So IMO Clubhouse Android will do well too i.e. until people can do voice stuff in private.

P.S. Have run a voice platform when voice not a hip several years back, It did well only in China where people favored voice messaging over text even in public.

Imagine that, in this world of never ending change and innovation, one thing remains constant. What is it? The average. If something new starts off hot then goes down people say "What Happened?" And what happened was a return to the normality; an anomaly was only possible because things were so different at first. The more likelier truth is that that abnormality was the initial above average start.

Clubhouse, I just dont see it lasting.

Just finishing up this fun project where we crawled the Clubhouse social graph and make it really easy to visualize everything: https://clubhousesocialgraph.com

I think it will be shorter than a few months, especially after they get pressure from Twitter Spaces.

  6. 1

Nothing much. Few android users will try it. Few more people will write reviews

And then everyone will come to conclusions that Clubhouse will fail.

    1. 2

and most of the people will be on Spaces.

Shaan Puri's prediction of why Clubhouse will fail doesn't take into account Twitter Spaces, and I think Spaces will be the first very serious headwind for Clubhouse.

Even on the Android question: Spaces will open to Android users a whole month before Clubhouse does. And since Twitter has access to way more users, I think the whole audio-only chat mystique — one of the primary growth mechanisms for Clubhouse — will be gone by the time Clubhouse rolls out to the same users.

Twitter is soon rolling out Spaces for all users. I believe most people will move from Clubhouse to Twitter Spaces.

Even though Clubhouse users migrate to Spaces, the live nature of those apps maybe will still be a "problem". Sometimes I see an interesting talk happening on Clubhouse, then forgot to listen to it and when I remember, it's gone.
