Sorting by time periods hidden?

Why are time periods (daily, weekly, monthly) hidden and only visible when I mouse over the Popular tab? I thought the feature was removed and I was stuck for a good long while.

I use IH primarily through the daily, weekly and monthly tabs just to see what's been popular since I left so the first few times after it was removed I just bounced off the site. Probably a good idea to bring them back and under the Popular, Newest tabs, something like that.

Also, why can't I sort by time period on groups pages like on https://www.indiehackers.com/group/developers?
