Are Scroll Animations Good For UX Design?

Need Your Opinion

  1. 1

I would say scroll animations can be good for UX design when used thoughtfully and sparingly. They can enhance user engagement, create visual interest, and guide users through content. However, overuse or poor implementation may lead to negative effects on usability, accessibility, and performance. Designers should consider the needs of their target audience and prioritize functionality and ease of use over aesthetics.

  2. 1

Personally, I think they are pretty cool, but only when they are done right.

Just make sure to avoid these things:

    • the animations are too slow (don't waste your user's time, make them as quick as possible instead)
    • they start again when you scroll up (it's just annoying to me)
    • they ruin your website's structure and make your website harder to understand
