How can I scrape web for emails?

Question for the indiehacker community.

I'm targeting all sorts of agencies as listed on clutch.co

How can I scrape the web for emails to get the emails of contacts and staff at these agencies?

Is LinkedIn worth a shot?

Any advice would help.

Honestly, stop doing shitty things like this. You are the reason why Cloudflare & Co. provide security modules for email adresses in Order to get rid of your spam mails 👎

Appreciate the concern here and the intention isn't to send spammy emails. I'm a former b2b seller and understand well how to reach out to businesses.

Plus, Zoominfo is a paid scraping service and this is the norm in b2b saas sales organizations.

      Thanks

If you send me an email without that i know you or asked for the Information, it is spam!

No matter how good your concerns are 😉

Well, I don't really agree with that. I mean, it's your opinion and I respect it but if someone approaches me even if I don't know him/her but it's adding value, I wouldn't consider it spam.

          1. 1

It is spam, I block things like this all the time in work. Adding value is your own view, to me I'm not s decision maker, that email is unproductive and a pain in the ass

Of Course you disagree, cause you use this method

            1. 1

No, we disagree because that's how business is done in the world. New business relations are established via phone or email.

If you don't do business that way, you're removing the 'people' part from the business.

              1. 2

Do paid ads and Content marketing. Both are valuable methods where everyone can decide whether to read or click. Receiving spam emails does not give you the choice if you want to receive it or not. Quite simple.

But hey it is totally Fine if you need to do this. Up to you how you build your „Business“

Appreciated! Looking for a more automated way to scrap the web for contacts in a particular industry. I don't want to spend too much time loading emails one by one.

      ZoomInfo is stupid expensive, too.

forget ZI, data isn't even good, not even discussing the asking price. I think you're going to have to put in the work on this one, unless @KevinSahin can help ?

Has this ever worked for anyone — sending cold emails to companies in hopes of making a B2B sale?

Whenever I used to get those kinds of work emails ("Let's have a quick call to chat about why my product is perfect for your team") I would immediately delete them, or they'd be sent to spam.

Just seems like the ROI for sending cold emails to people who didn't ask for them is minimal.

Try using https://lionleads.app (I am the creator) and it might have not just the emails, but also their titles and LinkedIn profiles.

Another way would be to hire an inexpensive VA, that you can pay <$5/hr, and have them find the email and other relevant information manually.

Keep in mind that your potential prospects are likely getting emails from many others as well, and likely ignore most pitches they get.

It's better to send a relevant email to a potential prospect, with some unique and/or helpful information they'll connect with, rather that one canned impersonal email. Put yourself in their shoes, and ask yourself what type of email would you read and respond to.

Also, I get hit up all the time on LinkedIn with some form of pitch. While I do read most of them, I ignore and never respond to 99.5+% of them. Your pitch would have to be super good to get people to respond.

Lastly, using automation to gather some information is helpful. For example, using automation to identify potential prospects. That's exactly how tools like BuiltWith build their database, and how companies create and curate quality lead lists. So, if you're going to use automation, use it thoughtfully :)

    Old fashioned by hand?

Just browse the website, get to know the company. See if you can find relevant information about the people who pull the strings and search for them on hunter.io.

Quality leads provide way more value compared to auto scrapped "[email protected]" e-mail addresses.
