Web 3 is a massive opportunity for Indie Hackers

The best web 3 projects emphasize building in public, make their code open source and grow organically. Such projects share many traits with Indie Hackers.

Verifying the validity of data in a decentralized network where no network participant needs to trust the behavior of any other network participant enables applications to exist that are owned by no one single entity.

Decentralized applications put power back in the hands of you and I. We can now have custody of our data and assets on the internet without relying on a centralized entity as a middleman.

We're still very early in the adoption of decentralized applications. The usage of Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain and Polygon on their busiest day hasn't surpassed 350 transactions per second while centralized apps like Whatsapp reported 1.1M messages per second in 2020.

For Indie Hackers, this is an opportunity to get involved early and build communities while riding the wave of the ecosystem's growth.

At Shardeum, we are building the world's first dynamically state sharded L1 allowing Shardeum to retain low fees and fast transactions forever simply by adding more nodes to the network.

The project is co-founded by Nischal Shetty, the CEO of India's largest crypto exchange, WazirX, and Omar Syed, a principal architect with 30 years of experience building fault-tolerant distributed systems with millions of daily active users for large enterprises such as Yahoo, Zynga, NASA and Raytheon.

If you are a developer with an idea for a dApp we'd love to support you. Please join our Discord and ping me if you'd like to learn more. In my opinion, being early to Shardeum and building a leading app within the ecosystem is one of the greatest opportunities in the world for developers at this time.

Great topic! I believe that Decentralization is the future of the Internet, even while decentralized applications now have fewer transactions. Every scandal involving the leakage of sensitive personal information or misuse of personal data brings us closer to a decentralized future. I wish good luck to all commenters with your decentralized products!
We work on decentralized email Eppie.io, which will allow us to return ownership of the main authorization tool and correspondence to people.

Thanks for the insights, sharding is a very interesting topic. And it might be a great opportunity to start building right now in the bear market/crypto winter.

In case someone is interested to build something in web3 and wants to consider joining a startup incubator, I would suggest checking the BFG Superstars program. The program is focused on web3 ideas, completely remote and in English: https://blockchain-founders.io/bfg-superstars

That's an excellent insight. There are a lot of projects being built with thousands of opportunities. I just joined your Discord.

I'm in an early-stage project, a health tech that helps you sit straight during your workday and rewards you. In a nutshell, sit right and earn crypto (https://sityea.io)

We are struggling to bring people to our Discord channel as we still didn't release our tokens.

Can you share some strategies or tactics you used to grow it?

    Here's our community: https://discord.gg/xuH46cXjKS

    Thank you

Whatever comment I have will get flamed.

But by default, why do you need a decentralized application. Or another way, to determine why decentralized is better than centralized (because most cases, it's not).

Post whatever you want. Others may flame but I'm open ears and always respect others' opinions.

In my opinion, I'd prefer to use decentralized applications where trust is not required. I don't trust that centralized entities will always act in my best interest and I would prefer to use an application owned by no one. I also prefer to have custody of my digital assets.

(Do you trust that the CEO of Amazon, Apple, Twitter, and Upwork will do what's best for you and not for them?)

      Merchants > Amazon > Consumers
Developers > App Store > Users
      Publishers > Twiter > Users
      Freelancers > Upwork > Customers

      vs.

(Or would you rather not have to trust anyone?)

      Merchants > dApp > Consumers
      Developers > dApp > Users
      Freelancers > dApp > Customers

There are benefits for developers as well. If you want to learn why other devs are involved in the space feel free to ask them on our Discord. https://www.discord.gg/shardeum

to be honest, I trust larger organizations far more. While they'll try to be profitable, they have a sense of brand image to maintain. Hence the idea of 'Branding'. This is also the same reason I prefer first party apps. far more than 3rd parties. It's just way easier for bad actors on 3rd party applications either intentionally or unintentionally.

Don't download and visit random sites. ;)
