You're an athlete but you just don't know it yet

Being a startup founder is one of the hardest and most gruelling jobs on the planet. It's an extreme sport of the mind. Uncertainty. Expectation. Stress. Decision after decision. Risk in every direction. There is no where to hide if you want to be successful.

Sound familiar? You ask any high performance athlete and they'll tell you the same thing. Performing in sport is filled with uncertainty, expectation, stress etc.

The best athletes in the world, from their earliest years to long after retirement, are surrounded with coaches, trainers & supporters. Their coaches are there to help them see their blindspots, help them train harder, reach new heights & close the gap between their current performance & what they're capable of.

Now stop. Look around for moment and ask yourself, where are my people? Where are my coaches?

Then ask, if I am doing one of the hardest and most gruelling psychological pursuits on the planet, why don't I have a coach or two?

You see sports people are athletes of the body and they train their bodies & minds everyday so that when it comes time to perform, they bring their A-Game. Therefore shouldn't athletes of the mind also be training their minds & bodies everyday to be working at peak performance?

One of the biggest barriers I see to startup success & modern workers is we don't spend enough time training & refining how we think & act. We try & leverage an untrained mind TO DO ONE OF THE HARDEST PURSUITS ON THE PLANET and the resulting impact is huge.

Failure. Stress. Conflict. Waste. Loss. Frustration. Broken relationships. Unmet needs. Unsolved problems.

So what if you could #closethegap between what you know is possible - your potential - & where you are currently at - your current performance? What if you could do the same for your team; make sure they're working as close to their potential as possible?

It is 100% possible. It requires a recalibration of focus. A change in perspective. A willingness to ask for a new kind of help. The great news is, athletes have proven time after time that coaching & more specifically, mental skills coaching, transforms performance.
