What is Google FLoC?

  1. 1

The technology known as FLoC (Federated Learning of Cohorts) is Google's new way of tracking users' online activity without exposing details of the consumer's online history. FLoC does this by grouping individual users' interests together (e.g. basketball fans, beach goers, retired people). By grouping individuals together, consumers’ personal information is hidden in the crowd. Despite the categorization, Group Think achieves for users a personalized experience online.
In theory this is a great solution to hiding peoples online privacy, however the issue comes when personalization gets lost in the mix. The website twik does a great job at protecting their users online privacy while also creating a personalized experience.
