Why does BetaList require so many Twitter permissions?

I wanted to prepare posting my product on BetaList and I have to create an account. I don't understand why they require all those permissions:

permissions

Are they all really needed? Is it safe? If you already have an account, did you agree to all those permissions? It feels very dodgy in my opinion.

It's probably that they need one setting which has dependencies. Just an idea: to be able to follow an account (betalist) they need to also be able to mute and block accounts. Those two might be linked on the permissions side of twitter. I may be wrong

I honestly think and hope someone misconfigured the permissions. Why would they need to be able to follow an account for me? I just want to post a listing on their website, not follow their twitter. What if I don't even use twitter?

Some of the permissions are also really strange, like being able to like/retweet posts from my account.
