UInclude is an LA based startup whose suite of SaaS products establish equity in the recruitment process and promote workplace diversity. Our bias mitigation tool (a.k.a. Editor) uses machine learning algorithms to identify and eliminate implicitly biased language in recruitment material that deters marginalized groups from applying for roles, ultimately diversifying employers’ candidate pool.

Description of Bugs:

• Editor is not working properly on uploaded documents (.docx)
• Editor is not initiated right after the document is uploaded
• More and more words are highlighted every time the editor is updated, it is even highlighting non-biased wordings
• Editor is not highlighting all instances of gender biased words
• The number of highlighted words in the main text is not the same as the number indicated in the sidebar
• More words are highlighted when editor is updated
• The editor is highlighting words that follow biased words
  It is highlighting words as biased when they are now on the bias wording list
• The sidebar card is not capturing all biased words that are highlighted in the main text
• The sidebar does not reset when prompted
  Sidebar should reset after the “Clear” button in clicked
• A few of editing tools buttons are missing on the top panel
• Tool icons to be added (remove formatting, left align, delete indentation, add indentation, cut, copy, paste)

Required Skills:

• Javascript, React, and TypeScript
• Experience creating rich text editors
• Experience writing commented and documented code
• Experience with d3 or any other framework
