A user gave my app 3 stars out of 5, and I am happy!

Hi,

I am the developer of an app called EasEvent which helps users to automatically create events from text or images.
Yesterday, I have noticed a user review of 3/5 😑, but the interesting part is the comment, the user mentioned that he is struggling with ads and couldn't find a way to pay and get rid of these ads. Although 3/5 is not a satisfying rating, but the comment reveals that the user is willing to pay for my app, which is a very good sign. Am I wrong?

First off, congratulations! It's great that you're receiving feedback to build upon. However, ideally, it would be more meaningful if users chose to purchase your app because they find it genuinely useful, rather than just to avoid ads. Speaking from my own experience with various apps on my phone, it's become increasingly challenging to discover apps that I want to buy purely for their quality, rather than just to escape the annoyance of ads. It's a reflection of a wider issue within the industry, which is quite unfortunate.

I got your point. I think the fact that people use an app while being bothered by ads is an indicator that they benefit from it. Having to show ads is bad, but it is a necessity to support development.

First, very useful product and congrats! Your first "almost" paying customer :)
Second - find this guy asap and talk to him

I would suggest you to find out who that person is and ask then what problem are they facing. This will basically help you understanding and also shaping your requirements accordingly.

I've read many Chrome Extension and Play Store reviews, and I've noticed that there are a lot of toxic people leaving negative comments for insignificant reasons. I hope this isn't one of those cases and that it's from a potential customer.

    Wonderful achievement ehbgamer!

Reach out, ask them why. Offer a discount, a gift-card or whatever in exchange to learn as much as you can.

Ask them, "What would have solved [insert your problem] and how could my solution be worth 5 stars?"

Do everything you can to turn it into a 5 star experience.

They will champion you to the next customer(s).

    With love - @libradoodle.
