Leaked transcript: What Mark Zuckerberg told Meta employees about Sheryl Sandberg’s exit

It's interesting to see how often they make reference to the context. Both when they're talking about Sheryl's start at the company and when they mention the changes now - they keep talking about the "context". It might seem obvious at first glance but, when you think about it, maybe there's more to it - I think sometimes I'm guilty of making decisions that I think are right for the optimal situation I want to be in, rather than the one I am currently in. I think I have my eye set on the future and where I want to get to, that I don't necessarily make the best business decisions for where I am now.

I was in corporate strategy and while I wrote the scripts for the C level executives to say, they always markup the number by 30-50%, fully know that their asks are unattainable. Thing is, that's how to drive overachievers to move forward.

Totally! In fact, I recently read, Warren Buffet once said that the best investment you can make if you want to be successful is in learning how to communicate effectively. It's not just about being completely transparent and open - I don't think that's always constructive. It's about communicating in a way that what you're saying is likely to be interpreted how you want it to be by the other person.
