Seeking advice on selecting an email forwarding/routing service

I'm searching for an email service that allows me to manage email routing and forwarding. I've tried out services like Resend for email routing and Improvmx for email forwarding. However, I ended up paying $29 just because I have to subscribe to pro plans because I want to add an extra domains, although the usage is pretty low for what I am paying for.
What has been your experience with similar services?
