What's the best way to launch this?
Hey guys, I am pretty new to indie hacking games and am unsure how to launch this. I have a couple of concepts in my head that I'd want feedback on or any recommendations/suggestions.
Introduction
My friends and I have been day trading here and there mainly by waiting for some big news that would make it easy to predict what the market will do. For example when SVB bank collapsed or some significant geopolitical movements.
We decided to build a little news alert service that just scans the news all the time and then if the news has a significant impact on certain stocks/instruments it sends a text message to the user.
Strategy
Here is what we have done so far,
- Checked out competitors, e.g. https://newsquawk.com/, they are pretty expensive. I guess the main thing going for us is the price because we don't have social proof yet.
- We found a few Reddits like Wall Street Bets and others related to day trading. For those who have more chill moderation, we'll just post about our product. For those with tighter, we are planning a bit more elegant approach, making it more of a discussion and maybe shilling the product somewhere in the comments subtly.
- Planning to put $100 into Instagram ads. I checked out a few IH posts about Reddit ads, and apparently they are not that good.
- We are also planning to release a guide on day trading for super casual people and shill the product there.
- Making shorts on socials about news day trading and how it's a good choice for casual people and how our product can help.
I don't think google ads are worth it, and SEO is a very long-term game.
Also, we at most have a 2-step funnel (some kind of content -> product), and there are probably some smart 3-step funnels (content -> more content -> product). I'd be stoked if someone could explain funnels to me properly XD.
