Show and tell

Hi Berliners,

I thought it'd be cool to share our current or previous projects with each other.
I guess I'll start and we'll see where it goes from here.

Last month I launched UX Brains - which is a curated directory for UX content. It got some really good traction (>6k unique users) and I am now working on a more streamlined version, that will replace the current Airtable solution.

In addition to that I am working on a website called Fair Fashion List (getting close to launch 🚀). This project is a collaboration with my S/O, who is a sustainable fashion designer. We are trying to provide a solution for people who want to shop eco- friendly clothes online while giving them some background information about the respective brands.

I am looking forward to your feedback and I am excited to learn more about your projects!

Love your Fair Fashion List -- reminds me of my first company [10 years ago 👴] but we unfortunately stopped way too soon; I'm happy to see more & more brands tackling this btw - please reach out once it's launched & don't hesitate if I could help in any way.

Current project is myStvff - helping people to own less. Launched (& converted into a co-op) a skateboarding community as well: Krak

    Thanks for the thread 🙏

    Hi everyone,

I'm from Berlin as well :)
I recently founded Mage with two of my friends. Mage is a pricing optimization tool for in-app purchases. We received the EXIST startup grant for Mage and are located near the FU Berlin. I would be happy to hear any feedback regarding Mage.

Regarding UX Brains, I was thinking maybe there's a more elegant way of presenting everything instead of lists, but it seems you are already working on that :)

I've been indie for 10 years (it was how I was able to first come to Berlin without a normal job or any experience with the language). The site is Oxbridge Notes, where I buy and sell law notes. The business treated me to a thoroughly enjoyable decade, but now I want to switch to the programmer education market.

A few months back, I started my new project, Semicolon&Sons, that teaches business-minded programming plus online marketing. Between on-site and YouTube, I've hit about 2350 subscribers so far. Gonna make my first attempt at monetizing by the end of the month.

    Hallo Berliner,

    I am working on: https://amicu.app

It's an iOS app to improve social habits by using reminders to keep in touch.

    I met many interesting people.

From traveling more than 60 countries. Or volunteering in big organizations. Living abroad. Hosting and surfing with hundreds of Couchsurfers. And then there's my Berlin, work and school/university circles.

I watched TED Talks about social relationships having this huge impact on health, happiness and longevity.

So how can you better maintain your social life without making it overwhelming?

Well, you keep in touch. But it's hard. Especially when being abroad or focused on a project. Reminders work well for me with other habits.

I make Amicu to help others and me to take care of their social life.

It solves these pain points for existing users:

    • Calling family / grandparents often enough
    • Regular contact with friends, if you are very focused on e.g. an IH project
    • Keep in touch with professional contacts or even customers (didn't expect this)
    • Not losing contact with people, who live further away

I have ~ 100 monthly active users and 3 subscribers paying me 7$ MRR. It's tough and slow, but personally I am very happy to have this app as it helps me a lot. And sometimes I get very positive feedback that it really is helping someone else as well.
