Are SaaS products a good fit for Gumroad?

I've been working on a subscription-based product in the consumer finance space. We provide proprietary tools for DIY investors that allow you to compare investments, get a quick scoop on your stocks, ETFs and mutual funds (bull and bear case), and find better alternatives to your investment ideas. The tools are built for the casual retail investor--people who don't do security analysis for a living, and need unbiased, 'x-ray' analysis of stocks and funds they're interested in.

I'm thinking about putting this product on Gumroad, but I'm wondering if that's the right thing to do. For one, we offer a subscription-based service... a SaaS product for consumers. Next, we're already using Stripe as a payment processor as love it.

What I find attractive about Gumroad (and Stripe doesn't offer) is:

  1. the marketplace;
  2. a possibility to engage affiliates;
  3. it's a good discovery platform.

Given all this, what are your thoughts on putting a SaaS-like product on Gumroad? Who's done it successfully? What feedback do you have for someone considering this?

Many thanks!

    For my opinion, gumroad is not a perfect place. You can try to use substack as paid subscriptions for investors or create something more custom with couple no-code/low-code tools.
