SEO tactics you might not have heard of...

Hi all, I just wanted to share a tweet reply that I posted which received alot of positive engagement. Someone asked for some SEO tactics for indie hackers and I shared a few examples that people said they haven't heard of. Also, since I am not an SEO expert, I will be using chatgpt to help explain each concept...

FYI, I'm not an SEO expert in the slightest, I build apps. Here is a list of some SEO tactics I've picked up after a lot of research into how to drive traffic to a website:

Programmatic SEO: Trying to get a single page to small websites to rank is REALLY hard. Programmatic SEO is like having an advanced SEO superhero working for you. It harnesses the power of data and automation to optimize your website for search engines. The magic lies in its ability to automatically optimize on-page elements like title tags, meta descriptions, and keyword placements, saving you time and effort. When done right, some solopreneurs have been able to produce and publish around 300 blog posts a day. I personally find that programmatic SEO works best for location based content, FAQ pages, product pages, glossaries, Tutorials, and pages in different languages/regions.

Utilizing Schema Markups: Schema markups are custom code that you embed into the header or footer your website, allowing search engines to better understand and display your content in a visually appealing way. By providing structured data about your products, events, recipes, and more, schema markups enable search engines to present relevant details directly in search results through eye-catching snippets, called "rich snippets."

Avalanche SEO: I can't really describe this one but I think this video describes it best - https://youtu.be/gQn_UX8vg_I

Anyway, I hope this helps any other indie hackers trying to drive more free traffic to your site!

    Thank your the tips Myles,

Will definitely implement Schema Markups for my project's landing page.

Interesting that I did read anything about it from any of the articles I went through when working on my project's seo. 😅.

Thank you so much for sharing. Could you please name some WordPress plugins used for website automation?

I don't use Wordpress, but you can utilize tools like Zapier or Make.com to connect to chatgpt and automate website content. Wordpress should at least have a Zapier plugin

    Thanks for the tip Myles,

Have you tried publishing articles using programmatic SEO? Curious to know if you can share some prompts to create these articles.

    Thanks!

I have not, but I plan to buy a new domain to strictly test out articles using programmatic SEO. I can keep you updated if you're interested.

I've published location based pages using programmatic SEO for my web design service in Canada for local SEO though. It would be something like "web design Toronto", "Web design Vancouver", "Montreal", etc.

A general rule of thumb is, you want to train chatgpt to sound as human as possible before writing and publishing. You can definitely find "make chatgpt sound human" prompts online though.

Here is a youtuber I watch that builds a lot of programmatic SEO based blogs - https://www.youtube.com/@jessecunninghamv

I am really interested to know the outcome.

You can try out my free tool which I already tuned to sound like human. ( here are articles from the tool : https://medium.com/@muhdazharali98 ) .

But to use this you need to insert a youtube video relates to the topic you want to write ( after experimenting I found that you need to insert a nuance to get better outcome ) and also you need to insert the topic you want.

The tool is free and try it at decentool.com .

Also do let me know what your outcome is I am also experimenting with generated articles for marketing so far got decent outcome.

        Thanks Myles,

Sure, I'm interested to learn together with you on how to do programmatic SEO. I agree, the challenge is getting chatGPT to write content as close to a human as possible. One of the challenging things is the lack of "personal experience" that it can share which I think will be the outlier for most content out there.
