You Can Now Invest In Startups Fighting COVID-19

Hello IndieHackers! Just wanted to share this initiative that two very brilliant friends of mine are working on - it's basically the world's first accelerator that allows anyone to invest as little as $100 in startups fighting the COVID crisis.

They just launched on Product Hunt today to promote their DemoDay - where 13 startups that have raised over $50K in funding each will be having a virtual pitch session to raise funds in the form of equity crowdfunding!

If you're interested in investing and supporting startups that are fighting COVID, be sure to check it out! Also, would appreciate any feedback/thoughts/questions on this - feel free to leave them in the comments below, or on the Product Hunt post!

This is a really interesting take on equity crowdfunding, thanks for sharing! However, I wonder if the heightened risk of equity crowdfunding compare to other asset classes, say stocks/real estate, would dissuade people from investing in these startups, especially during trouble times like this? For example, have you been seeing a lot of investment activity since the start of Demo Day?

Thank you for your comment - it's definitely a very valid concern! Of course, startups are risky so people should not be investing with their savings account, especially during times like these.

However, surprisingly enough, we've had our strongest months ever - not sure why given the times. I think people want to support businesses and missions they care about.

Hmm, I can definitely see parallels between that and the stock market, with there being record number of new traders getting into the stock market in the recent months due to COVID. Not sure if the mindset between those new stock traders and the new investors on XX are the same though.
