Cold emailing your potential VCs

Cold emailing VCs when you don’t have a network is bad.

While we were sharing some experiences about emailing VCs, I noticed something..

Some of our members at founders cafe —→ Luke, Christina, Calum, etc. mentioned they got no responses for cold emails. reaaaaally shitty calls from cold VCs.

ALL of them raised from warm intros in the end. Whether it was, Nils, who literally worked at Pear VC, or Yash (member of FC) whose friend was DarlingVentures, or Pat/John Whaley whose past investors they can connect Luke to.

Only people who don’t have a network use cold emails. That makes them look desperate and like a bad founder.

Our fix…

So, at Founders Cafe, we've begun to concentrate our own efforts within on assisting individuals in gaining traction (50k ARR+) and warm introductions to prestigious VCs (a16z, Pear, etc.).

  • Sarah received weekly mentoring from Rishi and Luigi, which is how she increased her annual revenue from 0 to 50k.
  • Christina raised $2 million because Nils, an ex-Partner at Pear VC, introduced her to the company.

That’s when I realized how important it is to be in a good network of people. And seeing founders grow from 0 to something is really worth the efforts of helping each other.

We are all in this together at founderscafe.io
