Stripe: Introducing crypto payouts

  1. 2

Nice to see Stripe back in the crypto game but although crypto payouts and on-ramps are a nice (new) start, it would be great if Stripe offered crypto as a method of payment like they did in 2014-2017. Back then it was only BTC and they stopped due to its volatility, fees and long transaction times but today the crypto industry offers much more mature options (stable coins, lightning transactions, low fees…). It would be great to be able to use Stripe to take payments in crypto as well as in traditional fiat payment methods.

    Hey ,
    you can browse Aurpay.

the biggest innovation advantage of Aurpay compared with its peers is that it can bring more revenue to users. For example, on the ERC20 series of tokens, due to technological innovation, the gas cost of Aurpay for 1,000 orders is about $2 . The peers consume $2,000, which means that Aurpay can bring more than $1,998 in revenue compared to peers. yes, just so amazing!

Another innovation is to provide a smart contract to ensure the non-custodial function of assets. This is a real non-custodial function among the peers. The customer's wallet address can be published on the chain through a smart contract, and withdrawals are executed through a smart contract. No one can intervene this process.

I don't think Stripe will dominate the market in this area. The craze of decentralization will make feel the difference.

I think this would work well with higher-income jobs; people who make decent $ to cover living expenses and invest the rest. Good choice from Stripe.

Am I wrong in thinking they had this before but removed it because of the wild intra-day price swings, specifically of Bit Coin?

I believe that was back in late 2015/early 2016 they did payouts in BTC. Looks like they learned from that lesson back then and are only offering USDC as payouts on Polygon.

Low fees are nice, however Polygon has so many outages and network congestion problems lately, really makes you question the stability long term as more businesses/dApps start to use it.

Yep, I work with projects on Polygon and it can be frustrating but with their fee costs, it's the only feasible network for a lot of projects.

They have a solid team that is just suffering from success, you're seeing companies like crypto.com and apparently Stripe leveraging the network. Hopefully they can resolve those issues sooner than later.

I was wondering which network. A real shame they picked Polygon. With all the outages I am not a fan. The sunflower one was particularly annoying..

Atom, Solana, and Terra are my favorites.

        Thanks for the clarification.

I knew I remembered it and knew it was a while ago, but was not 100% certain.
