Do you keep jokes to yourself when you are around new people?

The other day, I was doing some research for my book and found about Social Inhibition.

There are people who tend to speak softer or keep jokes to themselves when around new people vs when they are in the presence of a close friend.

In Psychology, it is known as Social Inhibition.

Interestingly enough, social inhibition isn’t just about being shy!

People who regularly socially inhibit, sometimes reduce their ability to acquire new knowledge. By reducing this, a person can engage more with the world around them & learn from it.

I will also admit having been prone to this and may have missed out on a lot of opportunities because of it :(

Hope this psychological insight helps you to become better in social situations! 😊
