Baby Steps

Hi, this is my first post and introduction, I would be happy to elaborate on anything if you have any questions.

After spending my entire 20's in a couple of mildly successful bands but then it all ending and finding myself at 30 years old with no real prospects, I got a old PC with the aim of writing music (which I still do for fun https://soundcloud.com/retrobarn).

Having to attend a 6 week workshop due to being unemployed I ended up doing a course in HTML and Frontpage, and surprisingly really enjoyed it.

I built a few sites for local businesses and family and got my first professional job as a classic web designer in 2007.

I have gone from designer, front end javascript developer, backend developer and mobile developer during my time and picked up many languages. I worked in many different environments, corporate, digital agency, start up.

I was part of two successful acquisitions and I knew a few years back I wanted to try something for myself.

I didn't know what app I wanted to create so I started with authentication and created a small node app that allowed users to authenticate on web and mobile.

I then wanted to make something where users could share information, and a shared shopping list app was the simplest most useful tool I knew I was going to use myself that I could think of.

My app is going to built in stages, I am using microservice architecture, creating reusable components such as messaging, posts, automated events any service basically, so that if I decide to pivot I can reuse these services in a different context.

I started with the web app and will be building the iOS and Android app in react native next alongside extending the apps functionality further, I have plans of moving it into the health and fitness space, this is just a small beginning.

As of today I have one week left of work before I take some time out.
It was more of a coincidence that its coincided with the release of the first part of my application which is just the simple shopping list app https://easypie.co.uk

Hope to post more updates soon
