Does anyone have trying approach subreddit / Linkedin group members directly? If so, can you please share a bit on it

Hey, my product's audience is small business owners. I have joined a subreddit / Linkedin group related to small business owners, and I wonder whether it's a good idea to try cold messages to the members there.
