Feedback on newsletter idea - weekend trips within 2 hours of London

Hi London Indie Hackers!

Would you guys use this service? Or have any suggestions as to how I could make it more valuable?

Concept: I am launching a newsletter which gives a weekly curated itinerary for a weekend trip from London, focusing on boutique independent "off grid" locations. It includes activities, costs, travel arrangements and an accommodation overview.

Niche: Its aimed at professionals, probably couples, who live in London but occasionally may want to disconnect from the velocity of city life and spend a weekend at a slower pace in a natural and peaceful location.

Value: It takes time to plan transport, activities, destinations and accommodation for short weekends away. Providing a itinerary for a curated trip will make such trips more convenient and easier to execute.

It is completely free. I enjoy planning such trips and have experience with UK boutique accommodation. No plan to monetize, just want to see if there is a community out there who would be interested in this kind of content!

Thank you!

Sam

Hi @sambob - Apologies as I only just saw this.

I would also sign up for this and love the idea. I agree with @jkristobans that this is something of value that you could / should monetize over time.

Hopefully the upcoming summer of staycations helps get this off the ground

    Good luck
    Andrew

I like the idea. Especially in these challenging times, it's hard to find what is open/closed now and where it's safe to go. I was working in the office, but in the last 7 month moved to work from home (as many office workers) so I tend to go somewhere more during the weekend.

What do you mean by boutique independent "off grid" locations?

Very good point @strelec I hadn't considered that there is an increased need now for people to be able to have a change of scenery at the weekend.

By off-grid I mean locations which are secluded and close to nature - allowing the traveller to disconnect from their everyday life (technology etc). This may be Shepherds Huts, Yurts, Cabins, Treehourses, Cottages etc.

Thanks for the feedback @jkristobans. The idea at the moment is to provide a curated itinerary weekly to everyone - so it is not a bespoke service to an individual and their needs. This way it will be just be one trip to plan and identify each week. Having said that, that is still alot of work! I am realising this now...! I think maybe we will charge in time.
