Promptzone - first-of-its-kind social media platform dedicated to all things AI.

Hello Indie Hackers,

Creator of Promptzone.com, a unique social media platform designed specifically for the AI community. My journey started from a personal frustration: the absence of a dedicated space where AI enthusiasts, researchers, and entrepreneurs could easily connect, share, and learn from one another without the noise of broader tech forums.

Promptzone is my answer to this gap, providing a focused environment where users can engage deeply with all things AI through discussions, case studies, and a robust tagging system. However, as we scale, I'm exploring effective ways to monetize the platform while enhancing the value it offers to its users.

And most importantly what are some features that we could integrate to enhance the user experience.

Here are some monetization strategies I'm considering:

  1. Premium Memberships: For exclusive content, advanced post analytics, or private sessions with AI experts.
  2. Sponsored Content and Advertisements: Targeted partnerships with AI-focused companies.
  3. AI Marketplace: A section for users to promote and sell AI tools or services.
  4. Educational Programs: Offering courses and certifications in collaboration with academic partners.

I’m eager to hear your experiences and suggestions on these ideas or other strategies that could be effective. What challenges should I be prepared for?

How can we ensure that the growth and monetization strategies align with the community's needs without compromising the platform’s integrity?

Your insights will be invaluable as I strive to make Promptzone the go-to place for anyone passionate about AI.

Thanks for your help and looking forward to your thoughts!

Best regards,

Nice! We do this on Promptmaster, but behind our $300 paywall so we can control the quality. I think it's really important for niche communities.

That's a great strategy! I've noticed many companies adopting a similar approach. You might also want to check out 'thereisanaiforthat' as it ensures a high standard for company submissions.

I'm a strong supporter of offering a free tier to provide opportunities for those without resources.

However, this could lead to a high volume of submissions and extend the review times.

Perhaps implementing a nominal fee could help maintain both quality and commitment.

I'd love to explore some ideas together if you want to. Feel free to ping me on Linkedin.

For us, the $300 paywall and very strict community guidelines created a really vibrant community. (65% MAU)

It's still super early stages but I think we can make it even better.

We tried the free tier, but that really diluted the type of people joining and got a lot of "freebie-seekers" so we ended up kicking out 3k people just last week.

This is a great platform where people can not only learn and exchange ideas about artificial intelligence but also share their own stuff. It's a really cool concept – best of luck to you!

Is this also a way for AI companies to market their business?

Eventually yes there will be a dedicated page with the most innovvative AI companies but it's still on wip.
