Funding Options for a Startup, Reg CF?

I've recently read countless articles about the big startup extinction event that supposedly will happen over the next 6-9 months. The market has a major supply/demand imbalance; more capital is in demand than available, and runways are dwindling.

A quick background on my startup journey so far. We raised a pre-seed round in 2Q 2022 and went to market with our first product, which didn't gain traction. We spent a year iterating until we finally developed an MVP that connected with a small set of design partners. Based on the feedback from our users and potential customers, we decided to rebuild our product from scratch and relaunch with a different brand.

We're on target to launch our new MVP in mid-September. We're focused on our product but also have runway in mind. Ideally, we'll get solid traction and be able to raise a seed round. However, I don't want to rely on just the VC ecosystem, given the supply/demand dynamics. So I'm considering all alternative options:

  1. Angel investors
  2. Reg CF Crowdfunding
  3. Going public on OTC Market (not ideal)

There have been many resources from founders writing or speaking about their experience with reaching out to VCs and angels. I have experience in that area as well when raising our Pre-Seed. However, I haven't seen many founders share their experience on RegCF or going public on the OTC Market.

Are there any Indie Hackers out here that have pursued these routes? If so, mind sharing your experience?
