How to find a Co-founder online

Hi hackers!

Building a startup alone is very hard. You have to do many things. You can split the responsibilities by your skills while being 2 or 3 in a team.

The best way to find a co-founder is to know someone with the skills you need.

What if you don't?

I have gathered a list of websites or platforms where you could potentially find your cofounder.

CoFoundersLab – designed by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs to connect you with co-founders, advisors, mentors, investors, and innovators. Free, but have a premium membership.

Founders-nation – find or become a startup co-founder.

pozi(dot)io – the place to validate your idea, grow your team and build your startup.

Founders Beta – discover startup jobs, events, courses and grab coffee with the members.

Starthawk – finding a co-founder is hard, we provide you with the platform to make that easier. Get started for free today and find the missing piece of your startup journey through a co-founder.

F6S – a free platform with over 4 million users. F6S lets you connect with accelerators, funds, investors — you name it. More to the point, they'll let you post a position at your startup.

Lead Candy – a paid platform that helps you search out entrepreneurs, co-founders, industry leaders, etc., but it's a little different from the rest in that it lets you connect with them via their socials and verified email addresses.

AngelList – you’ve probably already heard of it. It’s not specifically designed for finding co-founders, but, like F6S, you can just register as a recruiter and post a position.

Reddit – a place you'll definitely want to check out. And with 23,000 members looking for co-founders, it's well worth joining r/cofounder. Also worth checking out: r/startups, r/Entrepreneur, r/EntrepreneurRideAlong, r/SideProject, and others.

Slack – you're probably familiar with this messaging platform and its many business channels. Here's a list of 400 channels to get you started.

Discord – check out Discord too, and specifically their #cofounding channel in /r/startups.

Startup school – Made by YCombinator. Match with co-founders based on your preferences for interests, skills, location, and more, and start building your company. Personally, probably my favorite place.

Partnerz.vercel – a great place to find a co-founder with complementary skills.

And, of course, your LinkedIn!! Probably you will not see if a person is open to starting a business, but you can always approach anyone.
