How to get started on finding Investors?

I live in a 3rd world country and there are little to no investors here. Startup culture is very foreign from where I'm from, so I'm very thankful for Indie Hackers for exposing me to this world.

I'm aware that product validation, MVP and traction are required first before even thinking of finding an investor.

But once I have these 3, where do I start looking for one? Do I cold email my pitch deck? Also taking into account that I don't have credibility to my name 😅

Any help would be useful, thank you!

    What country is that?

You could apply to y-combinator or similar. But for that you will need a credible team behind or they will not even look at you. There are other things that investors look at for potential investment, the biggest one is probably how much competitive advantage you have and how long can you keep it. And identify your competitors. Don't say you have none to investors :D

Read some books or y-tube videos on the topic ;)

Hi rmamba, thanks for the quick tip :D

There are only a few startups sharing their story on y-tube though, that's why this question was posted here to get an idea where indie hackers found their first investors 😄

        no problem

btw: y-combinator it self has a lot of videos on everything around startups: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcefcZRL2oaA_uBNeo5UOWg
