I think 2009->2022 may have been just the preamble for crypto (ETH2)

I recently had some discussions on HN that I wanted to flesh out into a longer form post.

I've sat out the crypto wave up until now, but the recent ETH2 merge I think opens up new horizons for me and a lot of others who were skeptical.

In this post I basically lay out:

  • the use cases that actually work for crypto
  • why i didn't jump in before
  • why it's different this time
  • the risks still facing whether crypto can be actually be useful or not.
