Here's a summary of Meta's metaverse manifesto. I think it's worth a read. Interestingly, the manifesto conveniently says nothing about tracking and profiling, which is how Meta makes its money.

I have no interest in Meta, but I guess the metaverse is coming whether I like it or not. And it's going to be a place where people make money, so business are going to flock to it.
