The legal issues

So I love the idea of scraping, sounds amazing to me, so then you go to a site where you might want to scrape then right at the bottom or in it's terms of service it says what it's information can only be used for.

Then you see sites like this https://browseai.com/ mentioned on another thread (thank you btw)

Where do we stand, is it a grey area? I live in the UK. Is it a case that it depends on where you live in the world? Can you just do it until you get a cease and desist then decide to fight the good fight in court?

I had some good aggregate ideas about two years ago but I thought it would be too much of an uphill struggle with all the sites and their terms.

I'd love to know where we stand, this always seems to be quite opinionated but if you really know then I would love to know or where to find out more.
