Which brand name would you go with?

I'm thinking about building a back-end as a service (BaaS) for indie game devs. I've got a few brand ideas, which do you like and why?

For those that don't know, a BaaS for games typically provides things like cloud save, leaderboards, analytics, match making and multiplayer services, etc.

  1. GameStone
  2. GameGuts
  3. GameBlade

I honestly don't feel like any of these are telling the correct story.

      Do you have any suggestions?

Of course, far more important than the name is figuring out what people actually want and will pay for. I'm a fan of the research process that Amy Hoy advocates in this video:

Basically you go onto forums where your target audience hangs out and take a lot of notes.

I've read one of Amy's e-books. It was pretty good. Right now I'm actually doing Nugget Startup Academy which is absolutely fantastic. I'm about 2 weeks in so far.

I know Amy runs a similar course and as far as I can tell the content is along the same lines but to be honest I didn't really resonate with her as much as I do with Nugget.

If I had to rank them, I'd probably rank them in this order:

    1. GameStone
    2. GameBlade
    3. GameGuts
    1. 1

Interestingly, I ran this survey in a few other places where game dev's hang out and the response was consistently the opposite. Most people said GameGuts was their favourite.

I also prefer GameStone, but am somewhat lukewarm overall.

You should probably take the preference of your target customers over IH folks (even in the Games group).

Thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely asking my target audience. I thought it might be interesting to see IHer's point of view as well.
