Why would you not use or buy my product?

I saw a similar post, so wanted to try it out my self.

I'm working on https://journr.app/ - a platform for goalsetting and activity-metrics, with a social angle.
I have already asked for feedback, but hey, constant feedback = better product

The current direction is targetting towards self-improvement and goal-setting, where I have finished implementing goals in activities, as well as stats in activities (all-time/daily/weekly/yearly metrics for time/amount and averages).

The app can be used to track a lot, for example weight tracking, get assignment done, save 1M $, catch x fish, so on. Hence why it's important to settle for one targetted group first, and expand later.

For monetization I got inspired by another post here on IH, regarding a paid-room for those who wants to complete their goals. He already saw success, so hey, why not implement it as well, when it's relevant?

My take on this for Journr is to create an exclusive paid-access Circle, for serious goal-setters. It will be 11$ to lock-in your goals for the week, and 39$ a month if you lock-in your whole month. I want the price to be steep enough for those who are really serious about goal-setting. Each monday you set your goals, on wednesday you update the status, and friday you reflect. (I have made more in depth points ofc)

Then the question is, why would you not use or buy my product?
Thanks for reading btw :)

It's good to ask this question to people you think are your market.

Not sure if I fit your target market. I wouldn't use this because I already have everything set up in notion. I don't need to some other tool to go and write 2 lines of how to improve your product.

I see :) For now I'm staying in the r/GetMotivated, as this group is my exact targeted audience

There are several reasons why someone might choose not to use or buy a product:

Price: If the product is too expensive or doesn't offer enough value for the price, customers may opt for more affordable alternatives.
Quality Concerns: Poor quality, frequent breakdowns, or negative reviews can deter potential buyers.

In my opinion for these kind of self improvement stuff, I won't want to commit energy to try it until i've seen someone achieve it with concrete results. So if you can demo how you managed to make some change in your life that was previously difficult and show how your product helped, I may start paying attention.

Thanks for the insight! Journr has a "single-player" mode, where you don't need to interact with anyone. Here you just have your personal activities, such as daily chores, fitness-related goals, money-related goals, time-spent tracking towards what you do, etc. However the "multiplayer" mode is when you share with others insight from these, in order to motivate, as well as seeing others insights. You also set a statusbar for what you do, and can see others statuses as well! By posting and seeing others, it might encourage you towards action. This will be your closest friends ofc

I will create some real-life usecases in the future, for example creating consistency by posting each day and seing stats as time spent week in, week out!

App looks good. So what's your tech stack behind this if you don't mind.

Thanks! Carrd.co for landingpage, and Flutterflow + Firebase for the app :)

But one challenge which I face with FlutterFlow is to segregate environments like dev, staging, production. What was your experience in this regards ?

        1. 2

I'm unsure what you mean. I just develop, develop, develop. Having an overview in my Milanote-note!

Staging and production in what sense? Flutterflow has integrated pushing to web, ios, Google :)

          1. 1

No see I create a Flutterflow project and connect it to a firebase backend it works perfect no doubt. Now after the first MVP release it may not be right to use the same setup I need a pre-production environment for both firebase and Flutterflow where I build a feature iterate and release that into production after all sorts of testing ensuring proper systematic way to avoid any risk of breaking - if I directly edit in production environment.

🤩 Some motivation for me here. #Flutterflow ♥️

The idea is great. Personally, I tend to use a mix of Notion, and Gmail to track my personal projects and todos. If I had to use something like this I would want seamless integration between Journr and my other tools. I would not consider moving completely to Journr because a lot of my content is already in Notion (including attachments)

      Thanks :D

Journr is primarily a goalsetting/activity/to-do app with a social angle and communities, prioritized for phone. The web-app will at some later stage probably have integrations with other apps :)

        Well all the best!

    Hey there,
You may simple start with a landing page. Currently, I'm not paying for this but your landing page might change my mind :)
    Good luck with your project/product!
